Member Services/Use and Billing Policies
CTS Network Acceptable Use Policy
ILLEGAL USE.
Networks owned or operated by CTS may be used only for lawful purposes. Transmission, distribution or storage of any material in violation of any applicable law or regulation is prohibited. This includes, without limitation, material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right used without proper authorization, and material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat, or violates export control laws.
SYSTEM AND NETWORK SECURITY.
Violations of system or network security are prohibited, and may result in criminal and civil liability. CTS will investigate incidents involving such violations and may involve and will cooperate with law enforcement if a criminal violation is suspected. Examples of system or network security violations include, without limitation, the following:
1) Unauthorized access to or use of data, systems or networks, including any attempt to probe, scan or test the vulnerability of a
system or network or to breach security or authentication measures
without express authorization of the owner of the system or network.
2) Unauthorized monitoring of data or traffic on any network or system
without express authorization of the owner of the system or network.
3) Interference with service to any user, host or network including,
without limitation, mailbombing, flooding, deliberate attempts to
overload a system and broadcast attacks.
4) Forging of any TCP-IP packet header or any part of the header
information in an E-mail or a newsgroup posting.
E-MAIL.
Sending unsolicited mail messages, including, without limitation, commercial advertising and informational announcements, is explicitly prohibited. A user shall not use another site's mail server to relay mail without the express written permission of the site.
USENET.
Posting the same or similar message to one or more newsgroups (excessive cross-posting or multiple-posting, also known as "SPAM") is explicitly prohibited.
This policy is binding, and any attempts direct or indirect to violate this policy will result in immediate termination of service without refund. By using the service provided to you by CTS, you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of this policy. Any violations of this policy should be reported to abuse@ctsi.net.
CTS Billing Policies
All overdue accounts will be locked until payment is received. To have account unlocked, customer will be required to pay balance, including a $10 re-instatement fee. Customer will be notified by mail and given 10 days to pay the balance before finance charges are applied and the matter is turned over to collections. All customers will be responsible for any fees associated with collecting monies owed.
Monthly customers will be encouraged to pay for services by credit card. If they wish to pay by check, a $1/month handling fee will be included.
If you wish to cancel your account, we require a letter with your signature, be mailed to the above address. Please mail your cancellation letter at least two weeks prior to your regular scheduled billing date. All users who cancel their accounts are still required to pay any invoices that are due. We will not refund money on canceled monthly or yearly accounts, unless users are in the military and are transferred out of the area. Please note: non-payment or non use of your account does NOT constitute cancellation. You are responsible for payment on your account regardless of whether or not you use the service during a given period.
Please note that we now offer dial-up Internet services nationwide, so if you are moving out of the central Virginia area, you may still be able to use your CTSI account. Please call our office for more information.

Privacy
Website: Data collected on our web site is strictly for the purposes of providing authorized access to customer services, to respond to customer initiated contact, or to provide technical support information to company personnel and/or customers. Under no circumstances will data be used for unsolicited marketing purposes, sold or transferred to any third party or government agency except in fulfillment of a subpoena. Web forms that collect any unique information are secured by industry-standard SSL encryption.
Services and facilities: Shared, dedicated and colocation hosting services are all provided in CTSI owned and operated facilities. Connectivity and broadband services are provided by a combination of CTSI facilities, incumbent local exchange carriers, and third party partners. All CTSI owned facilities are located within the continental United States, and all CTSI employees are US citizens. All technical support, maintenance, design and management of equipment used to provide services to customers is provided by CTSI staff exclusively. Under no circumstances will access to customer data, systems, management tools, etc be provided to any non-US citizen.
Equipment: All production equipment used to deliver managed services to clients is sourced from US based suppliers. Our primary vendors include Hewlett Packard, EMC, Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware. In some cases services are delivered using open-source operating systems, management tools and applications. CTSI will make every effort to ensure such products are obtained from reputable US based providers. Our primary Linux distribution is Centos, derived from the Redhat Enterprise Linux distribution.
By using our services, you agree to be bound by these policies, and any changes that may be made to them throughout the term of your account.
